SAN FERNANDO, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2017)Partners in Care Foundation (Partners) announced today it is celebrating the 30th Annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD). Observed annually on November 15 since 1986, NPD observes the act of philanthropy, which includes giving, volunteering and charitable engagement activities of donors, volunteers, foundations, leaders, corporations, and others engaged in philanthropy. As part of the NPD celebration, the Greater San Fernando Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) honored Partners’ Vice President of Development, Stephanie Wilson, as Outstanding Professional Fundraiser of the Year.

“National Philanthropy Day underlines both fundraiser accomplishments and the funder-donors whether large, small, local, or global,” said Partners’ CEO, June Simmons. “Fundraising professionals are vital in making organizations, like Partners, thrive through public development and involvement in the philanthropic process.”

Simmons went on to say there are instances where philanthropy overlaps with charity. However, the primary difference is charity relieves social pains, whereas philanthropy alone usually attempts to solve problems at the root cause.
