In Celebration of Easter

Last Updated March 29, 2024

Easter is the principal festival of the Christian church calendar, which celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion. It is a celebration of hope for eternal life and the defeat of death.

Easter – which is celebrated this year on Sunday, March 31, 2024, concludes a week of special days that began on the previous Sunday, celebrated by many Christians as Palm Sunday, and includes Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.

Easter is celebrated by both Christians and non-Christians in the United States. In addition to the serious religious message, it is also a fun and festive day to spend time with loved ones with great customs and traditions. Many institutions and recreational parks hold annual Easter egg hunts and egg decorating events, which are extremely popular among children. Many Christians consider Easter the holiest day of the year so many attend Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at Church, the biggest church day of the year.
