Last Updated May 23, 2022

June Simmons, President and CEO of Partners in Care Foundation has been recognized as a 2016 Influencer in Aging, by Next Avenue, public media’s first and only digital publication dedicated to covering issues for older Americans.

June is nationally recognized for her leadership in the administration of healthcare organizations. Since founding Partners in Care in 1997, she has led the organization’s pioneering role in developing and scaling evidence-based care models, leading to innovative and effective interventions for the management of chronic conditions, better coordinated care to improve health care outcomes and the challenges of aging.

She is one of 50 advocates, researchers, thought leaders, innovators, writers and experts recognized for being at the forefront of changing how we age and think about aging. “We’ve uncovered a range of leaders who have made exceptional contributions this year,” said Susan Donley, Managing Director of Next Avenue. Other honorees include Los Angeles’ mayor, Eric Garcetti; Bruce Chernof, President and CEO of The Scan Foundation; Paul Irving, Chairman, Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging, and Terry Fulmer, President of The John A. Hartford Foundation.

Commenting on the honor, June said, “I am honored to be recognized alongside this incredible group of leaders. However, the achievement belongs not just to me, but to my terrific team at Partners in Care and the many individuals and organizations that have supported our vision. We recognize the unprecedented opportunities to redefine the aging experience — through more coordinated, person-centered care that respects the uniqueness of aging, and through personal empowerment to take greater responsibility for our own health. If care delivery systems, community organizations and individuals work together, we can reshape the journey of aging so it better serves us all.”
