Community Parlor Meetings

Meeting and Making Friends

Adrian and Melinda Stern

What can be more friendly than meeting someone new who shares your interests and talking with them over a glass of lemonade in a front room “parlor?”

That’s the thinking behind the series of Parlor Meetings begun by Partners’ Development Team under the direction of Karen Schneider, VP of Development and Jennifer Kozakowski, Chair of Partners’ Board Philanthropy Committee. According to Schneider, “Partners launched our Parlor Meetings early in the winter of 2019. Board members and others invite people to join us that they think will be interested in learning more about the agency’s work.

We’ve had several people generously offer to host these in their homes, and the response has been wonderful! The first was hosted by founding Partners’ Chair Dr. Allen and Weta Mathies, founding Chair of Partners in care Foundation, at the Valley Hunt Club. It was a delightful evening.”

The meetings to date have been held in several locations around LA County, with additional events planned for Palm Springs, Orange County and then throughout California. For more information, please contact Karen Schneider at (818) 837-3775 ext. 121 or kschneider@picf.org.

The Stern's Parlor Meeting

The most recent Parlor Meeting was hosted on Saturday, May 4, 2019, by Adrian and Melinda Stern. Adrian Stern is a Past Chair and current Partners Board member. He and Melinda graciously opened their Bell Canyon home to 18 new “friends” for a brief presentation by June Simmons, which was followed by many good questions and observations about Partners and its services.

PARTNERSHIP.   INNOVATION.   IMPACT.
