Oversee all aspects of the Research Center. Develop and lead research agenda for the organization. Identify and develop research grants and design concepts for study and outcome measures. Implement and supervise data collection procedures and conducts data analyses. Disseminate research findings through journal articles and presentation of findings at professional meetings and conferences. Provide fiscal management for research projects, including allocation of grant funds, monitoring monthly fiscal spending, and reviewing all fiscal reports submitted to funding sources. Research and evaluate projects in areas of community health, end-of-life care, case management, physical activity, geriatrics, mental health, substance use, and other health care areas.

Conduct data analyses, literature reviews, and summaries on a variety of long term care topics such as health care expenditures, end-of-life care, pharmaceutical costs and problems, and innovative models of community-based long term care. As part of Center Data Team, analyze Medi-Cal and Medicare claims data from 18 California counties and document findings in issue briefs and peer review journals.

Developed grant proposals for HIV prevention and AIDS service programs. Directed and managed several city, county, and state projects. Supervised program coordinators and HIV prevention programs directed towards drug users, sex workers, and men who have sex with men. Developed training curriculum and intervention manual for state-funded training course based on the CDC AIDS Community Demonstration model. Conducted state-wide HIV prevention training sessions which are presented to program coordinators of health departments and community-based organizations located in counties throughout California.
