Mission
Antelope Valley Best Babies Collaborative (AVBBC) works together with community residents and community based organizations to improve birth outcomes in the Antelope Valley. Founded along with the Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) by Partners in Care Foundation, and after achieving many years of growth and success, AVBBC will join with AVPH as AVPH now assumes an independent leadership role in the Antelope Valley healthcare community.

The Antelope Valley Best Babies Collaborative (AVBBC) program has developed and implemented an innovative comprehensive approach to improve birth outcomes in the Antelope Valley through its partnerships with:

Project Impact
Project funding has enabled AVBBC to deliver services to and advocate on behalf of a significant number of at risk women and families. Our goals are:
• Decrease the incidence of infant mortality in the Antelope Valley.
• Increase the knowledge, and positively impact attitudes, beliefs and practices among at-risk women living in Antelope Valley regarding women and infant health.
• Reduce health disparities and increase access to healthcare while improving the quality of perinatal care services for families in the Antelope Valley.
Project Description
Through Collaboration, Outreach, Health Education & Messaging, Social Support, Case Management and Health Promotion, AV Best Babies Collaborative is achieving the following outcomes:
Collaboration
• To have a functioning, vibrant collaboration, linked with existing Collaborative, with appropriate and documented shared goals and objectives
• To Strengthen collaborative member organizations' knowledge of resources provided by Collaborative members
• To promote the sustainability of the Collaborative through both social and financial resources
Outreach
• Early initiation of prenatal care among high risk women
• Community residents will act as advocates for improved birth outcomes and promote good health to other pregnant women
Health Education and Messaging
• To increase and promote community and individual knowledge about how to have healthy births and access appropriate services and resources
• To increase community awareness of available resources and services through 211
Social Support
• To conduct comprehensive social support screenings on target population and refer to Collaborative organizations as needed.
Health Promotion
• To increase access to coordinated and comprehensive interconception care programs that support high risk women in preparing for their next healthy birth
