Tammie McMann Brailsford, Executive Vice President, COO, Memorial Health Services Joins Partners in Care Foundation Board of Directors

 

(San Fernando, Calif., January 1, 2008) – Partners in Care Foundation (www.picf.org) has elected its newest Board of Directors’ member, Tammie McMann Brailsford, announced today by W. June Simmons, president and CEO of the San Fernando, California-based, non-profit Healthcare and Social Services organization.

As the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Memorial Health Services Brailsford is responsible for overseeing the clinical, quality, financial and operational performance of the system’s four hospitals and all shared services.

“Tammie brings a wealth of knowledge to Partners by way of her extensive professional experience including Memorial Health Services where the focus of transforming the process of clinical care provided to patients and supporting the caregivers with improved systems and advanced information technology have earned them a Standard of Excellence in Healthcare,” notes Ms. Simmons.

Brailsford also oversees the Memorial Care Physician Society, Performance Improvement activities for the system and serves as the Dean of the Memorial Leadership Academy.

Immediately prior to joining MHS she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. Brailsford was responsible for leading the executive team and board, ensuring the continued viability and success of the organization and developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic business and growth plan that reestablished the Aquarium as the premiere cultural institution in the area.

Brailsford has a track record of improving operating systems, organizational culture and financial performance. She has held numerous leadership positions in the Healthcare Industry including Administrator / COO at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California and CEO of Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital.

Brailsford is actively involved with the local community having served or currently serving as Commissioner of the Long Beach Economic Development Commission, Assistant Clinical Faculty member for UCLA, Director on the Governing Board of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Director on the Governing Board of the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach, and is a nominee for the American College of Healthcare Executives. She holds a Master’s in Healthcare Management from California State University Los Angeles, a Bachelor’s in nursing from Pacific Union College and a diploma in nursing from Niagara College in Canada.

Brailsford is married to Paul Brailsford, a practicing ophthalmologist, and they live in Orange County. Together they devote every spare moment to their seven year old son Matthew. They can be seen cycling as a family on their custom-made triplet bicycle.
